What’s the perfect place to hold a party for two fixer-upper designer types? An old house turned art museum!
Our wedding shower was this weekend, and we had so much fun. My awesome bridesmaids found the location, a BEAUTIFUL old house that is now a community art center. We were drooling over the slate roof, incredible (fully intact) woodwork, amazing furniture pieces, and abundant windows.

Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us – and thanks to the bridal party and our families, who worked very hard to make it a great day! You guys are incredible.

Happy bridal shower! Sounds like you’ve got terrific bridesmaids. I wanted to get married in a Victorian mansion, but my hubby wouldn’t budge on having our wedding at his little family church. It turned out nice anyway, and I got my bridal portraits done at an antebellum house, so that’s something at least! :)
Happy Bridal Shower! What fun… Hanging out with the girls in a fab old house was a blast I’m sure! Exciting times…
When are y’all getting hitched?
Yes, I have great bridesmaids, with great taste :) And we had a jack & jill shower, so Teague’s groomsmen (including my brother) helped out too.
We’re getting married in less than two months – May 28th. Everyone is joining us in Bar Harbor, Maine for what is sure to be an amazing day – we can’t wait. With the wedding coming up, house projects are getting less of my attention. But we’re still managing to get a lot accomplished. Wait till next month though – I’ll probably be m.i.a. from the blogosphere for a while. We’re looking forward to the honeymoon because we’ll actually RELAX (since we’ll be miles and miles from our house and the hardware store).
wow! that’s just loooovely! congratulations on your excellent shower and bridesmades!
We love to hear from you, dear readers.
